- Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2014This Telecaster is a standard Mexico Telecaster with a very hight quality finish on it. What is the difference if a Mexican builts it in the US or if a Mexican builts it in Mexico ? The Parts...in this case the Pickups. There isnt even a single flaw on the paint job, so the guitar looks great. The Pickguard matches as you can see the overall picture....
Now to the quality of the guitar. I owe 21 Electric Guitars.
Amount those are 1 Fender Telecasters 50s ( Japan ), 1Fender Tele 62 Custom ( Japan), 1 Fender Telecaster Deluxe (USA), 1 Squier Classic Vibe Tele 50s (China) and one self made Partocaster.....and I had 2 others before ( one Fender Korean Tele which was crab, and a Mexico Tele wich I had to sell to buy me a VOX AC30) so I think I know what I am talking about:
The guitar came well packed and was flawless.
The Neck needed a quarter of a turn adjustment. The sattle was OK, the bridge needed some minor height adjustments as well as some intonation adjustments....so over all a minor setup was required. This differs from standard Fender Japan Set up quality.....USA Fenders sometimes are the same but are over all mostly better set up by factory.
The Neck is a Fender standard C Shape, not a thick one. It is very nicely finished in gloss on the fretboard an front headstock and in satin on the rear and sides of all the neck. The frets are polished, not even my '95 USA Stratocaster did have polished frets, so it's a nice quality neck.
The pickups are a matter of taste....from ranking 1 to 10 ( 10 being the best) I personally would give them a 7.
The output is higher than on my other Telecasters which is really a matter of taste....the overall sound is good....with the right equipment behind you can play any style on this guitar. I consider trying out maybe a 62 custom bridge PU on this guitar and maybe another neck PU....
This guitar is , since it's only available in the US and limited, already worth about 1200-1300 Dollars in Europe.
Of the 2 I bought I sold one already and I will keep the other one.
I am shure with this limited edition of only 300 it will double it's value in no time. In Europe it already has due to inavailability.
I got Number 51 (and the other one I think 56). The Number gives no Information of how many are already sold....I guess they just have a big wall full of "Beggars Packages" and just ship them one after the other without knowing which Number is in the respective Box.
If you like the finish with the pictures on the guitar ( or if you are a Stones Fan) it is a must have, consider minor setup after receiving it.
Sorry for my English, I am from Germany.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2014There is no reason not to get this. If you are looking at this, you aren't just looking for a Tele.... You are looking at an incredible guitar to hang on your wall. For that it has 5 stars. For playability it has 4. It's a fine Made in Mexico guitar, but I would probably change out the pickups, at a minimum. I have no problem with MiM guitars, but if you are looking at this, you're looking for a Stones guitar. It is beautiful. It is hung on the wall with pride. I have multiple guitars, but still play this one (with care as I don't want to scratch the back!!) every once in a while as it is a thrill. Be careful with opening the box as i dented the corner of the vinyl case when it fell out. I didn't care as I will use it to listen to, not to store as a collector, however, it's something to think about. All in all....if you're looking... buy it!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2014As a 40 year plus Stones fan, I have to admit that I bought this primarily as a collectable, I was however very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the guitar as a musical instrument. The neck is brilliant; almost Gibson-like, really comfortable and fast, much better than my Strat. Out of the box(es) the action was low and true. I've changed the 10s that it came with for a set of Slinky 9s and though it has lost a little of that Tele' growl, it plays even better. I might even pull off the low E and try playing it in drop G !
The pick-ups are fine; nothing special but they sure sound like a Telecaster should. There's no "ash tray" cover for the bridge - it would hide the graphics.
Speaking of which, the graphics are very well done; I saw a review that said they were blurry - honestly, I think someone needs to see an optician ! The front design transitions seamlessly from the body to the scratchplate. The back design from the LP gatefold inner is cool too.
All of the extras (LP, hanger etc) were in the box. The heel plate says that mine is No.177.
I've thought about buying a tweed case for it, but I don't think it'll be moving too far from my own little Hard Rock Cafe !
- Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2015I've had my Beggar's Tele for just over a year now, serial number in the 130's. All I can say is this guitar is fantastic! Excellent build and components, and the set up was great from day one. The graphics are too cool. I probably spend as much time looking at it as playing it. Don't fiddle with the pickups. Mine is totally stock, and played through a '68 custom twin, the sound just spanks!!! Like Keef says, "the right guitar through the right amp." Almost too much fun playing some of the Stones tunes through this rig. The only thing missing is the bottle of Jack on top of my amp.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2014Good graphics and the build quality exceeded my expectations. When I plugged it in and heard the sound quality of the pick ups a smile came to my face. Being a Stones fan, this guitar is a no brainer for me
