Beautiful friends to lovers story! Drake and Serena are lifelong friends. When the attraction gets heated up, the chemistry between them is off the charts! Their friends play such an integral part of their lives and it was a heartwarming to listen to the camaraderie among them. Add in the cookies and donuts they loved to consume, this was a sweet and steamy movie in my ears. Aiden Snow and Ava Erikson brought these characters and their story to life. They embodied the personalities and eccentricities of each character.Now I need to go back and catch up with Drake and Serena's friends in books 1 and 2!I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this review.

    I am LOVING this series so much, but then again it is from Melissa Foster!! I have to be honest and say I'm kinda reading things out of order. I read A Little Bit Wicked before I started the Bayside series. So, I had already met Serena and Drake as a married couple, since Chloe is the heroine in Wicked. But I didn't know how they became a married couple. Bayside Heat helped me with that! What an amazing story to their HEA!!
    Serena is Chloe's younger sister and they both had to deal with a mother who was anything BUT a mother. Their mother lived for whatever man was in her life at the time or chasing after the next man in her life. Serena swore she'd NEVER be like her mother, so she's extremely independent and motivated to succeed. She's also been in love with Drake Savage since she was a teenager growing up together.
    Drake is Rick's older brother and partner in the resort they bought with their friend Dean. Drake is a protecter and fixer by nature. He stepped in and protected his siblings after their father's death and always tried to fix any problems they may have had. He has always done that for Serena, but for different reasons. He has loved her since they were teenagers but he never wanted to be the reason she didn't go after her dreams. So, he stayed her friend and never professed his feelings, while keeping as many guys away from as possible!
    When Serena takes a job with a huge design firm in Boston, it becomes almost impossible for Drake to keep his feelings to himself anymore. And when they come out, they come out in a big way!!! I loved how much he loved her that he was all too willing to meet her halfway and do the long distance thing! Swoon worthy!!! It wasn't easy but they made it look easy for each other. They were so supportive of each other and so there whenever the other needed them to be! A very beautiful relationship, one to strive for in real life!!
    While Serena isn't a quitter, she's also not a conformist. She didn't truly fit into the big corporate design firm due to their restrictions on her creativity. But she makes a true friend and cohort in Gavin. I truly believe he was her saving grace in Boston. And I love how the 2 of them came to the wonderful conclusion that they did!!!
    Of course, it was wonderful getting back together with all the gang from the Cape and how much of a family they were together!!
    So far Drake is my favorite hero in Bayside!!! He was so supportive and caring with Serena - making her the most important person in his world. Of course Serena made him feel just as important and loved. They balanced each other out extremely well!
    Now, I can't wait to dive into Violet's story!! I've been itching to get to her book from the beginning!

    We meet Drake and Serena in previous Bayside books so we have seen their chemistry first hand, even if they won't acknowledge it. It's not all fun and games and sexy nights though. They have some choices to make if they're to be together, one being distance. It's not an easy thing. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, but for these two all it does is make him harder and her needier. Weekends have never been so naughty-erm...FUN, I mean FUN!! Ok so naughty funs a thing. 😘

    Somehow, when this series first published, I managed to read all the books except Bayside Heat. Who does that? LOL Also, I was today years old when I figured that little morsel of information out *blink* LOL

    One of the many things I love about Melissa’s storytelling is that her stories are less conflict driven than anything else. She writes stories where the glass is half full, not half empty. She focuses more on the positive side of situations as opposed to the negative. It’s not that she doesn’t represent both sides of the coin, she just focuses more on the sunshine of things :) I love that about her writing. Sometimes, she makes it a little too easy, and I can’t really say if it was because I was listening to the story rather than reading it, but I felt like Serena & Drake had it a bit to easy. UGH …, I still loved that story but I just wish there was a bit more something to their growth & development. I can’t even tell you what! It’s crazy, I know, but it’s just this feeling I had while listening … *sigh* moving on LOL

    I’ve been enjoying Melissa’s work for many years, and I will continue to do so because her stories are ones that I want to live! I want to be in the worlds she creates. I want to be among the people in her stories. She makes my heart happy and she’s one of my go-to authors any time I need a little lift in my spirits!

    Ava Erickson & Aiden Snow did a fantastic job narrating this story and bringing Serena & Drake to life for me. Their voices played well off each other and really opened up the story for me. Well done!

    Why is it that when we are in love that we think we know what the other person's heart will desire, when all we had to do was ask or talk about it?

    Serena is a strong, independent woman who knows what she wants and goes for it, but she has a huge heart and thinks about everyone else's feelings.

    Drake is a wonderful guy with a big heart and is always looking out for everyone. He is so sweet!!

    The sexual tension between them was off the charts. Hot Hot Hot!!!

    Violet was Violet and it was awesome, and I cannot wait for her book!

    It was wonderful to see how quickly their relationship progressed since they had been friends for so long!!

    I love the addition of Gavin to the group-I’m sure we will see him in a book in the future ;)

    This is a friend to romance story of Serena, a creative, driven woman who has just bagged her dream job. What Serena didn't anticipate was that her excitement wouldn't remain when breaking the news to her group of Seaside friends and her on and off again crush Drake.

    Drake who has always relied upon Serena decides that he is not going to mess with Serena's decision or plans despite his own feelings, but he will support and help her as he always has done.

    Their relationship is very magnetic, they are always drawn to one another and eventually are unable to hide what they've always known.

    It has some real funny moments and is another good book from the Bayside series. You get to fall in love with the characters all over again and feel a part of their world.

    I'd recommend to all romance lovers. The book can be read as a standalone or as part of the series.
