Product description

Omni is the ninth studio album by the Brazilian power metal band Angra, released worldwide on February 16, 2018 by earMUSIC and throughout Asia by JVC. The album tells a story and the concept connects all the stories told on all previous Angra albums. According to guitarist Rafael Bittencourt, this concept originated on the track Z.I.T.O., from the 1996 album Holy Land.

I have been a fan of Angra for 15 years and have purchased all their albums. I would describe Angra as a cross between powermetal and prog like a cross between Iron Maiden and Dream Theater. There are many reasons i love Angra's music, the song are well arranged, the musicianship is absolute top tier and they incorporate alot of world instrument sounds. This is their best album since Temple Of Shadows and embodies all the best elements of their evolution in sound since their first album. A must buy for all metal fans looking to broaden their horizons.

Musically a very good effort fromthe best progressive power metal band out there. The band seems somehow reenergized after a couple of lacklustre albums.

I have to knock off two stars for the horrible mastering, however. Yes, metal albums are usually mastered very loud and compressed...but this is just horrific. The dynamics have been completely squashed to the point where I have a tough time even making out the chords and cord progressions on some of the songs. Please, please, please stop it with the overcompression...so many great albums are being ruined by this nonsense.

Bought this on the back of War Horns but sadly none of the rest of the album make the same grade.

Un must!
