A Reliant Love Kindle Edition

Nathalie Carter wants one thing: independence. She has paid her dues by living at home under her parents’ watchful eyes, earning grades to give her a ticket out and joining clubs she had no interest in to get into college.

She plans to experience things she believes every new adult should—from falling in love to playing beer pong and pulling an all-nighter to skipping class because she’s too hungover. But nothing ever seems to go as planned, and she gets pulled into a world she never imagined existed.

Samuel Torrington’s past refuses to release him from its vise-like grip; but he has a plan, and once his senior year of college is over, he can finally move away and start anew. His addictions help him get through day-to-day life, but he’s constantly battling darker demons.

Fate brings the two together, and chance takes them on a roller coaster ride that neither would dare hop off. Within destiny’s grasp, they realize there are two things impossible to fight—addiction and attraction.

*This book is intended for mature audiences due to sexual situations, language and drug use.*

*A sequel to A Reliant Love is due out 2015: Finding Sam.

About the Author

Taylor Lavati is a twenty-something year old student in a small town in Connecticut. She aspires to be a Kindergarten teacher but has always had a soft spot for English. Her small town doesn't have much to offer so her free time is spent reading, hiking with her dog and boyfriend or watching reality television. Her favorite genre to read changes on a daily basis but her top three consist of contemporary romances, paranormal romances and fantasy novels. She enjoys writing books that are different and original with dynamic characters. Her dreams are usually the source of her creative plots. She plans on writing as long as the ideas keep coming to her.

"Taylor Lavati has proven to be a wonderful writer & has made her way onto my list of favorite authors pretty quickly." Amy B

"One for readers at the older end of the 'young adult' spectrum, The Thousand Year Curse is clearly the work of a gifted young writer. ...what struck me most about the book was the deft and surprisingly mature touch of the author." Jay G

"I fell in love with Taylor's writing when I read the first book in her Curse Books. When I opened this book {A Reliant Love} I wasn't positive what would be waiting on the other side for me, but I was certain it would be a reading adventure. Taylor didn't disappoint." Bestselling author Jesse Kimmel-Freeman

"I absolutely loved this story {For The Love of Ash} and how beautifully it was written and flowed together. I have reread it 4 times now!" Taylor K

"I never thought I would read a "zombie book", much less love one. The Last Legacy really surprised me. Even with the whole people-eating-people thing, it was a fantastic book." Melannie S

I don’t read many books in this genre but when I saw that it was by Taylor Lavati I knew I had to read it. You see Taylor has become another one of my favorite authors of all time so that means I want to read everything they have ever written no matter what the genre is. The first book by Taylor I read was The Last Legacy: Season One and let me tell you I fell in love with it and her writing. It was one of the best books I have ever read! Oh but this is not a review about The Last Legacy it is a review about A Reliant Love.

Although this is not a genre I read very often I do like it and need a change from zombies and dystopian once in a while. But when you have a great author the genre is not important or nor does it matter. A Reliant love is awesome read and Taylor will have your emotions running all over the place. Not only are your emotions going haywire but you are as well. Taylor writes in such a way that she will pull you into A Reliant Love right from the first word and won’t let go until the last word has been written and will leave you wanting more and more and more…..

Nathalie Carter is a young woman who has just left home for the first time and can’t wait to start her new life at college without her parents telling her what to do. For the first time in her life she will be alone and can do what she wants and with having to ask permission from anyone. Nathalie plans on getting her degree and starting a new life for herself somewhere down the road but in the mean time she plans on doing a littler partying and hopefully find a boyfriend along the way. Nathalie is a very good girl with a very big heart who likes to help people if she can.

Nathalie has a hard time trusting people though after her boyfriend in high school betrayed her. But she is determined not to let that get in her way of enjoying life and just having a good time or being happy. So when she runs into Sam a senior who just wants to finish up his last year and get on with his life and out of that town to boot all she wants to do is spend every waking minute with him. Sam and Nathalie have an instant attraction for each other but Sam has a lot of baggage that he is caring around that may just get in their way of being happy and together. The only way he can handle it is by tuning to drugs.
When Nathalie looks into Sam’s eyes she sees something good in him and wants to help him. But she soon realizes that her love alone cannot help Sam.

I loved reading A Reliant Love although I cried more times than I can count. A Reliant Love is a very heartwarming read but at the same time it will rip your heart right out of your chest or so you think. Taylor Lavati is such an awesome writer that she pulls you right into Nathalie and Sam’s world making you feel as if you are a part of it and that you are traveling down all their roads with them. The ending blew me away I never, never, never saw that one coming in a million years. You know I hated it but you know it was so awesome. Endings like that are what make for a great book. I can’t wait to read the next book Finding Sam. If you have not read A Reliant Love then I would definitely suggest that you do.

There were way too many times when each of the main characters 'gave up' on each other and then forgave the other extremely quickly. It just got annoying after a while. Also, I understand not always having a happy ending... but it goes from one extreme to the other without any real explain or reason for it. Even after the tragic ending, the main character should have had some closure. It felt like the author got bored of writing the story and ended it in 5 pages.

girl falls for guy, guy cheats does drugs, girl forgives guy not once but like 5 times then decides to leave him. tragedy strikes book ends. I stopped reading 50% of the way thru, then decided to stick it out. the main female character had no positive attributes and believed anything anyone told her, I got mad at her. the man male character was just a junkie loser. the first half of the book I enjoyed but it seemed like the bedroom scene was the turning point and the Arthur knew the ending she wanted and someone else wrote the rest of the book

This was a wonderful story that had my stomach in knots in so many parts. Nathalie moved away to gain independence to meet Sam and ended up falling in love. Sam loved Nathalie but his additiction to drugs was too strong. I did NOT expect the ending and was just a hot mess.

I dont know how I could have missed this book before... This is truly one of the best books I have ever been reading.

The story is so stunning and so beautiful and horrible at the same time. It feels very real and is exactly everything I want. Its romanc mixed with humour and real life problems. The drungs is a big part of the book and it feels like the author have god knowledge of how it is to use drugs and be with someone who has a drug addiction.

While reading this book I got the feeling that this is about me. I am Sam, or the female Sam. So much of this book is things i have gone through and it sads me and makes me strong to. I know the struggle Sam has and I so can relate to him and everything he does.
I can relate to Nat to but not as strongly as with Sam. As a former drug addict we all have been sober around other addicts.

There is sex and love in this book and it is well displayed but the book is not about that. this is a love story but not like any other love story. This book is more than that. This book has everything a great book should have and even more.

This is a book im gonna recomment to everyone I know because it is just awesome. I am so happy I got it and read it. I couldnt stop reading it. This is a book everyone should read and Need to read.

This book had a lot of potential, but it ended up being too drug heavy for me. I got 2/3 of the way through and I think during at least half of that, people were on cigarettes, marijuana, or cocaine. For me, that's a big turnoff, so it lost the swoon factor. I understand that Sam having an addiction was part of the story, but I think there was too much of it for me. I love college romances, though. Sam has a damaged past, while Nathalie has a "fix it" personality. I liked the resistance Sam was showing. I think if it had shown more of their romance figured into the college campus life with classmates and friends, and away from the drug scene more often, it would have been perfect for me!

I really enjoyed this book. It's about Nathalie who wants her independence from her family. She goes to college to finds friends and love. Then there's Sam who is trying to cope with his past and tries to do the right thing but keeps being pulled back to the dark side. Nathalie and Sam meet and try to help one another and it is a roller coaster of a ride. Lots of ups and downs. This is a page turner and I didn't want to put it down. The ending leaves you speechless and wanting more. Didn't like the ending but I am glad I read the book.
Hope you like it as much as I did.
    Happy reading!!!

    "I feel everything when we're together .
I feel my heart start to beat.
    My blood starts to pump.
It's like when you aren't around the lights are dimmed, and the second you walk in the sun shines just for you.
You bring life to my death." - Sam

An emotive, angsty filled read with a slow burning build up. Touching on a difficult theme the plot was delivered in such a way that it was both realistic and thought provoking at the same time. A story of addiction and the struggles and despair faced everyday by someone battling to gain back control of their life.

Samuel Torrington is a tortured soul who's pain is evident. Refusing the absolution he so desperately needs in order to be released from the consequences of his past; but he has a plan, and once his senior year of college is over, he can finally move away and start anew. His addictions help him numb the pain in his day-to-day life, but he’s constantly battling darker demons.

Nathalie Carter wants one thing: independence. And what better place to start her new life as an independent woman than college. She plans to experience things she believes every new adult should, from falling in love to playing beer pong and pulling an all-nighter to skipping class because she’s too hungover. But nothing ever seems to go as planned, and she gets pulled into a world she never imagined existed.

Fate brings the two together, and chance takes them on a roller coaster ride that neither would dare hop off. Within destiny’s grasp, they realize there are two things impossible to fight...addiction and attraction.

Overall a heart wrenching read, that flowed, had substance with a couple that were beautifully flawed, naive yet wise, weak but strong. I couldn't help feeling every emotion. Love knows no bounds and this was definitely true in this story.

Would highly recommend to other readers.
