A Long Time Dead: The Dead Trilogy (SOCO Roger Conniston Book 1) (English Edition) Formato Kindle
Everyone trusts Roger. He’s got an honest face… for a killer.
Roger Conniston is a Scenes of Crime Officer, aiming to stay out of trouble but finding it anyway. The last thing he expected was to be arrested for a woman’s murder.
Could it have anything to do with the arms dealer he’s tracking, the one who’s a police officer? Maybe his vindictive ex-lover is out to destroy him?
But the real killer, the one who knows Roger’s secrets, is counting down the minutes until Roger appears in his sights.
Can forensic evidence save him or will the real killer get him first?

Recensione
I loved this book, no 1 in the series. And look forward to reading the rest of them. Our hero, Roger is an experienced and committed SOCO/CSI with a killer sense of humour . He's a likeable man who looks after his invalid wife whilst holding down a demanding job. He has the occasional questionable habit, but we can forgive him that as it's harmless really. In this first tale Ropger is going for a promotion, but meanwhile someone is setting him up for the murders he's dealing with and documenting . Along with being a great thriller, I never saw the end coming, it's also a fascinating insight into the world of evidence gathering and.scenes of crime procedures that these unsung heros live every day. Definitely a five star read! --Anne
I have just finished the trilogy Long time dead Stealing Edgar and No more tears I read them consecutively and I have seldom read such an exciting and fast paced trilogy. I'll leave others to fill you in on the plot's in their reviews. The characters were believable and very human. I found it difficult to put these books down, so be warned, they are so well written and pacey that you will be burning the midnight oil as I have done. The books are all quite long, not a bad thing, but packed with excitement! Well Done Andrew Barrett! I ll be reading more of your books soon. --Stewy

5,0 su 5 stelle Detailed forensics, gripping read
Wow! That was quite a book. Talk about a dysfunctional workplace! What really sets this apart from most CSI-type books is it’s realism. There was enough detail to make it more realistic but without overwhelming the reader or overtaking the plot. It was nice to finally understand the meaning of some forensic terms and how many different specialists there are within the different departments and how they work together—or not. Just when I thought I knew how things were going to play out, something unexpected happened. The killer turned out to be a shock; I didn’t suspect this person at all! There was so much going on in Roger’s personal life as well and I think the author got the personal/professional mix just right. Note: this is book one in a trilogy. Although some questions are answered, others continue into the next book. All three must be read, in the proper order. They are well worth it.

5,0 su 5 stelle A Long Time Dead is a fast paced read
A young woman is found dead in bed with her throat slashed and all evidence points to Officer Roger Conniston. Roger is about to lose his job and his wife. It appears that Roger is cheating on his wife with more than one woman. He has been thrown out of the house.
Did Roger kill this woman? Did he cheat on his wife? Is Roger being framed for a crime that he did not commit?
When all the clues start pointing to Roger as the murderer and he is accused of cheating on his wife the story became very confusing for me at this point because I was like how can the clues point to Roger when earlier in the book it told a different tale. Yeah I was scratching my head at this. And when his wife says he didn’t do something when earlier in the book I had read that he did. Am I right? I am not sure as I am very confused now.
Needless to say by this time I was like oh yeah the author is just trying to throw me off and it worked so very well as I did not have a clue at this point as to what was going on. But I was determined as Roger to find out what was happening. After this I was definitely hooked and couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see how it all would turn out.
A Long Time Dead is a fast paced read. It pulled me in from the first chapter and never let go. It is filled with suspense and likes to hold on to its secrets in various ways. It will keep you guessing and the pages turning.
I highly recommend A Long Time Dead to all suspense, Thriller, Mystery and Crime novels. One click yourself a copy today!
