IMMORTAL MATCHMAKERS, INC. (Immortal Matchmakers, Inc. Series Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 3,399 ratings

From New York Times Bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff...

SEVEN DAYS TO GO FROM LETHAL IMMORTAL ASSASSIN TO PRINCE CHARMING. DOES HE STAND A CHANCE?

Demigod Andrus Gray may look like every woman's dream, but when it comes to charm, he sees no point in pretending: He has none and makes no apologies for it. Behaving nicely hasn't made him the deadly assassin he is today. But is that really the reason he's still single?

The Goddess Cimil--owner of Immortal Matchmakers, Inc.--thinks yes. So when she foresees a mate in Andrus's near future, she's determined to make the match happen. That means hiring aspiring actress Sadie Townsend to help the barbarian "act" a little more civilized.

But are seven days really enough? And why does he suddenly have the urge to throw away an eternity of love for just one night with Sadie?

Andrus, Sadie & Cimil
5 out of 5 stars
Andrus, Sadie & Cimil
This is the first book in the Immortal Matchmakers, Inc. series and it is "HOT". What more could I ask for: we have smart heroine, a cranky god, a very crazy goddess playing matchmaker. Andrus Gray’s life has gone downhill fast. His life as of late was revolved around taking care of Helena and Niccolo’s baby girl named Matty. Yes that’s right the Demigod once assassin was a Manny but, now that has ended, as he was fired [over a misunderstanding] which is why his life now sucks. After three centuries of living in a constant state of battle now Andrus Gray is left with a cold heart and uncaring of niceties or charm. Camil the Goddess of the underworld syas that she has found a mate for Andrus and if he doesn’t come to LA right away to meet her she will be gone. This would mean that little Matty will be forever unhappy because she has had a vision and in saw that her mate will be his son. Then along comes Sadie Townsend who is almost broke and trying to get an acting job, then she is offered an almost too good to be true job but, she wasn't told about any of the real details. Her job required her to teach an unmannerly, crude, sexy hot as heck to act like Prince Charming in seven days but, she soon sees the a sweet, protective man who is troubled by his past. She is trying to keep her heart/self from wanting him as she is turned by him. If you want to know the full story you need to buy and read this book.I truly loved this book and want to read the next book in this series.

This book was so .....awesome, I am literally shaking, I wouldn't wait to write the review. First let me start of my saying this is the first book I've read by this author. I am a Ward/Kenyon/Aiken fan but lately have become very disappoint ed in their recent works. I had become very bored with my least favorite s as well and decided to try some one new. And ...OMG!....I am so glad I did, this book got me at the first paragraph....literally! I read it like three times, I was so surprised and tickled by the character and he wasnt even the man character! I really how the charactes, especially the "bad guys" didn't change just to be in love, they were there normal, rude, angry, PITA selfs from beginning to end! And the author using the current gargin for some of the character and still grammatically correct English for others.....absolutely brilliant. It made for a book full of completely different characters ...not even similar.... not even close!I I LOVED IT!!! This book made you laugh, cry, a little annoyed for your heroine, and fall in love with the hero, with a surprise ending. In other words....the perfect book. Way to go Mimi!!!

First of all, I dove into this book (series) somehow not knowing it was the continuation of the Accidentally Yours series. I am not happy with myself for that, as I could tell pretty quickly I was spending a lot of time trying to figure out the background that was obviously there. With that said, I cannot just NOT finish a book I’ve started, so I continued on. I loved it, I really did. And while I want to dive right into Tommaso’s story, I think I’ll stop there and go back and start with the Accidentally books before she gives us any more Matchmakers. I really feel like I missed out on a lot. MJP has a proven track record (King Trilogy, Fugly) of great writing, complex and interesting characters, a keen understanding of comedy in writing, and just plain great books. She is a go-to, one-click sure thing for me. NOW, IM#1 was great. Andrus is ridiculously endearing as a Demigod whose whole ‘caveman with a brain’ personality is sexy AF! MJP is amazing with her physical descriptions too. Not just because these characters are sex on a stick gorgeous, but because she creates tangible characters that you can wrap your imagination around. I do believe there was an exchange between Zac and Tula that actually made me snort with laughter; it just doesn’t get any better than that. Again, there are so many characters running around this story, I was a bit confused, but still incredibly entertained and hooked! Sadie had a great mix of feisty/smart (ass) and innocent/sweet. Which is exactly why she was able to go toe-to-toe with Andrus. The attraction between these two has a great pace, realism, and honesty that is another trait of MJP couplings. She is just damn good at it! So. I highly recommend this, but definitely believe it should not be read before the Accidentally series.

Andrus Gray’s life has gone downhill quick. His life as of late has revolved around taking care of Helena and Niccolo’s baby girl named Matty. Yes that’s right the Demigod once assassin was a Manny but not anymore, he’s been fired which is why his life is now in the crapper. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Camil the Goddess of the underworld has said that she has found his mate and if he doesn’t come to LA right away to meet her she will be gone. This would mean that little Matty will be forever unhappy because she has had a vision and in saw that her mate will be his son. Yes I know pretty unbelievable right but that’s what makes Mimi Jean’s book so freaking fantastic!!!!!

This is the first book of the Mortal Matchmaker series and let me tell you, it’s a real doozy! Cimil is now a MOM to not one, not two, not even three but FOUR babies and if juggling the lives of four little ones isn’t enough she and Zac must pay their penance by matching up one hundred immortals. Until that time they are banished from their realm and must live on Earth. There first victim, I mean client hasn’t even signed up for a match but Cimil has already found his mate, or has she? You never know when dealing with Camil and now that her powers have been taken away her visions aren’t always correct but then again, when were they ever?

If this is your first book by Mimi Jean, boy are you in for a treat. It’s a spin off from the Accidental Series which features Gods and Goddess’ finding love after thousands of years and trying to save the world from the apocalypse. It’s does end on a somewhat cliff hanger but not really. Andrus’ story actually does have a HEA but the “cliff hanger” is actually part of the next story because Mimi Jean is evil and likes to give you a tiny little glimpse of what’s to come but then make you suffer for months and months on end for her next story to come out, in this case it will not be until May of 2016! UGH!!! Even though she is obviously evil, I’ve loved each and every one of her stories and hopefully you will as well. Happy reading!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars I love it! The inclusion of Gods
Reviewed in Canada on February 1, 2018
Wow! This is the first offering of Mimi Jean Pamfiloff that I have had the opportunity to read, and I can honestly say that I hope it is not the last. What a fresh take on the paranormal! I love it! The inclusion of Gods, Demigods, Demilords, and all of the rest of the paranormal, was a special treat, especially since it was mixed in with the everyday life of today. In this, the first of a new series, we take on Andrus and Sadie! The story begins with an elaborate and in-depth introduction to what the series is about, introducing us to Cimil and Zac, as well as their trusty assisstant, Tula. It give a great background as to what exactly is going on, and opens the door for what promises to be a most awesome series with so many potential characters for future episodes. The tale of Andrus and Sadie is cute and full of spit and fire. Sadie is a real firecracker, while Andrus is a brute of a man, stuck in time over three hundred years ago. Little does she know just how much her life is about to change when she agreed to take a longer, emergency shift at the Mongolian restaurant where she works, struggling to pay the bills while hoping to become the next big name in the acting world. When Andrus reluctantly agreed to meet with a woman for a date after being thrown out of his last "job", he had no idea just what was waiting for him, except that since it was all Cimil's doing, it couldn't be good. But what's a Demigod supposed to do when he has nowhere else to go?
Oh! The sparks are flying, tempers are rising, and people are simply not what or who, they claim to be. Lots of surprises and intrigue. Definitely a book that was extremely difficult to put down once started. Absolutely loved it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Strange to begin with but turning into something beautiful
Reviewed in Germany on February 23, 2017
I got this book for free about three month ago and have just read it.
    Major mistake!

It is a fantasy romance novel and it was difficult to get used to the setting with gods and demigods and such.
I almost stopped reading it, especially as it does not start with the main characters of this love story -Sadie and A.- but with the kicked out gods Zac and Cimil. Why they are mentioned no idea. Cimil is just scheming and annoying or officially turning good. Zac is good for now but turning bad without a relationship and destroying the world some time soon. I am curious about his story.

However it is about Sadie preparing A for his destined mate Charlotte (unknowingly her cousin and look a like), so he gets a son who will mate with the daughter of his earlier love interest.

The language a coarse and some parts just confusing (should have read the other series first introducing gods and such).

There is another twist as Sadie is supposedly chased by something evil, unknowingly she is the evil -a succubus. She is also obviously the mate for A

    Beautifully written.

I might purchase the next book, if it were only cheaper.. .

3.0 out of 5 stars An interesting mix of mythology, fantasy and humor!
Reviewed in India on June 26, 2016
(Reviewed by For The Love of Fictional Worlds)

I enjoyed this one! I really did - it is hilarious to get to know Immortal characters and their journey in the mortal worlds :D

Andrus is an assassin, but definitely not a charming one - in fact I highly doubt that he even knows the word charming - and while he understands the need of a mate - he really doesn't want one, considering his last mate was a piece of work. But now that the fate is giving him another chance, just for the sweet kid he adores, he is going to take the plunge.

Sadie is the woman on the brink of disaster - she has inexplicable things happening to her and she is on the verge of loosing her fate, yet still that big break just seems to be out of her reach! So when the job of teaching a man how to be charming falls in her lap, she just can't let it go. Even if it means putting up with Andrus for the duration.

I adored the hilarity of the plot and the characters - this book is rich with it! But somehow the execution fell a little flat for me - the climax of the book came so fast and furious, that I was left unsatisfied. And somehow still left a few threads loosened.

Immortal Matchmakers - Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

Yay! I finally got round to reading this book and wow did I love it. This is book 1 in the series - it could easily be read as a standalone but I would highly recommend reading the Accidentally Your's series first.

Firstly, I have to say I absolutely love Mimi's crazy initial warnings at the start (F-bombs and unicorns etc..) oh and did I mention Cimil is back !

This is brilliantly written in true Mimi style, with amazing humour, seriously hot chemistry and crazy adventure. Andrus (a very old demigod with his caveman ways) and Sadie (aka Meat Wench) are freaking hilarious together and the twist at the end - I didn't see that one coming !

Big 5 stars from me and I would highly recommend to any paranormal fan.
